I ask Cheshire East Council to retain the two fields south of Springfield Road and opposite Pavement Lane, reference CFS26 373, within the Green Belt. They contain mature and ancient oak trees, established hedgerows and support roosting bats, owls, hedgehogs and foxes. They are also valued by the community for dog walking, exercise and access to nature. The land preserves Mobberley’s rural character, prevents countryside encroachment and provides wildlife habitat and open space. Development would increase pressure on constrained roads, drainage, sewerage, schools, healthcare and public transport. Brownfield and non-Green-Belt alternatives should be assessed first and this land protected.
