Haughton residents have established 3 key areas that we are passionate about further to an extraordinary open meeting held on 19/8/26
1. Agriculture and the rural economy. 3 large dairy farms remain
2. Environment and Landscape: It is moss, with the corresponding flood conditions, high water table and drainage constraints which created a protected site classified by Cheshire East as a local wildlife site C376,
3. A loved sparse, rural hamlet. Private cars are the only form of transport. There is not school, shop or village hall. The pub has recently closed

Haughton Moss is an example of a rural area of less than 200 residents and approx 74 homes. It is a group of disparate and different buildings some widely spaced along 2 narrow lanes which are filled by the wide agricultural vehicles. There is. no pub, shop, village hall . the historical pub is closed and the heritage listed crown bowling green out of use. Dairy is the main employer, a lack of accommodation for farm workers may be an issue
