I want to object to the 291-hectare land submitted around Ashley. The village has no services,
no buses and a station with just one train an hour, making it impossible to call Ashley “well
connected”. Every road into the village crosses a narrow bridge, so any large development would
create serious congestion and safety problems. I commute through Ashley daily for work from Knutsford and it would take a double the time taken to drive though the area. The roads are no prepared for the influx of people when events happen in either town and would be gridlocked if a further population were to added on the green belt.
The land is all Green Belt and productive
farmland, and the area includes sensitive landscapes, wildlife habitats and listed heritage buildings
that would be permanently damaged. This site is completely unsuitable and should be removed from consideration.
