Local plan scoping consultation

I want to object to the 291-hectare land submitted around Ashley. Our village has no services, no buses and a station with just one train an hour, making it impossible to call Ashley “well connected”. Every road into the village crosses a narrow bridge, so any large development would create serious congestion and safety problems. The land is all Green Belt and productive farmland, and the area includes sensitive landscapes, wildlife habitats and listed heritage buildings that would be permanently damaged. This site is completely unsuitable and should be removed from consideration. In addition to the above, there will be a substantial loss of BMV farmland in Ashley, this area has been proven to be extensive Grade 2 and Subgrade 3a land which contradicts national policy protecting top-tier agricultural soils. Without this land a section of the British farming community will be taken away.
