Local plan scoping consultation

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to formally object to the proposals within the Cheshire East Local Plan relating to High Legh.

I have serious concerns about the impact that the proposed development would have on High Legh and the surrounding area. High Legh is a rural village with a distinctive character, and I believe that further large-scale development would place unacceptable pressure on the village and its existing infrastructure.

My concerns include:

- The impact on the character of High Legh and the loss of its rural village setting.
- Increased traffic and congestion, particularly on the already busy local roads, which are not designed to accommodate significant additional traffic.
- Pressure on local infrastructure and services, including schools, healthcare, drainage and other essential facilities.
- The loss of green space and agricultural land, together with the potential impact on the local countryside and wildlife.
- Environmental and ecological concerns, including the potential loss of habitats and biodiversity.
- The cumulative impact of development in and around High Legh, rather than considering each proposal in isolation.
- Concerns that the scale of development is out of keeping with the size and character of the village.

I believe that development should be appropriate to the needs and capacity of the local community and should not come at the expense of High Legh's rural character, environment and quality of life.

I therefore ask Cheshire East Council to carefully reconsider the proposals affecting High Legh and to take full account of the concerns of local residents when determining the Local Plan.

Please treat this email as a formal objection and ensure that my comments are recorded as part of the Local Plan consultation process.
