The proposed housing development should be refused due to its harmful impact on the area’s rural character and existing residents. Additional vehicle movements would increase congestion and road-safety risks on a road not designed for significant residential traffic. The development could also worsen surface-water drainage (terrible as it is) place further pressure on local services and cause loss of green space and wildlife habitat. Its scale, density and appearance would be out of keeping with the surrounding landscape and established pattern of development. On this note, any planning should be refused and keep our beautiful countryside the way it is.
