Local plan scoping consultation

I am writing regarding the potential development of housing on the greenbelt land below Blakelow Road.
I want to express my objections to this. I am fully aware of the extra housing required, although I don’t necessarily agree with this.
Firstly every brownfield site in Macclesfield should be the priority for building developments and these should be completely exhausted before development of more new housing estates on our beautiful countryside. There are so many old mills, empty shops in Macclesfield that would improve the look of the town. Is it not low cost housing that we require. Building apartments on these would be better suited for low cost housing.
Secondly an huge attraction for people moving to Macclesfield area is the countryside.
Would removal of the this greenbelt area have a huge effect on the landscape ruining the character of the area.
The greenbelt land is an entry to the countryside. This is a an amazing view from various locations in the town . As the land is topographically elevated you would now see only soulless new housing.
There is a large plot of land on Union Road with empty warehouses and what is Moreton Hall providing for us now?
This area has large old trees where buzzards and owls have nested here for many years. What impact would this have on varied wildlife that it currently houses. The reservoir would no doubt have serious pollution from the drainage due to development of this land.
We need to invest in our town. It is sadly deteriorating rapidly. The only positive is The Treacle Market.
Have you considered a sustainable urban town dwelling that could be combined with either the canal for example on Union Road or redevelopment of Mill lane combined with The River Bollin. I understand this is not as easy as building on vacant greenbelt land, but how forward thinking Macclesfield town would be to consider areas like these to improve the look of our run down areas whist protecting our landscape assets. The property developers will always suggest sites which are easy and profitable for them but not thinking of the destruction it makes to our landscape.
