Local plan scoping consultation

I am writing to object to the potential large scale expansion of Ashley village. The land proposed is all green belt and mostly agricultural farmland that is currently farmed and has rights of way used by many walkers. Ashley is adjacent to Hale which has the nearest shops and the village is already overcrowded and does not have the capacity for thousands of additional visitors. The road between Ashely is very narrow, and dangerous, used by many cyclists as the gateway to the Cheshire countryside from south manchester and some walkers and is in poor condition and is unsuitable for many more additional cars. Ashley is on a small train line from Chester to Manchester and does not fit the criteria for good transport links. Developments should focus on brownfield sites, or expanding existing towns such as Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Crewe which have good transport links. Expansion of rural villages should only be considered if small eg 5-10% expansion of additional homes.
