Local plan scoping consultation

Dear Cheshire East Planning Team,
I am writing to express my strong objection to the proposed development of over 1,100 homes on Green Belt land in Ashley.
Ashley is a small, rural parish whose historic character and landscape identity would be permanently ruined by a development of this scale. Building on protected Green Belt land will destroy vital wildlife habitats, erase open countryside, and irrevocably alter the visual character of the village.
Furthermore, this proposal will severely impact surrounding areas, including Hale, Hale Barns, Knutsford, and Altrincham. Local infrastructure—particularly narrow rural roads, GP surgeries, and schools—is already stretched to capacity. Adding thousands of additional vehicles and residents will exacerbate traffic congestion across neighbouring routes and trigger unsustainable urban sprawl across council boundaries.
I urge Cheshire East Council to protect our rural heritage and remove this allocation from further consideration.
