Local plan scoping consultation

The new Local Plan appears to follow on from the New Towns initiative and as such is another assault on the area which had already stated the reasons for the inadvisability of major residential projects in the Adlington area. Whatever the National Guidelines, these must take into consideration the particular qualities - and shortfalls - of the area. This area lacks the resources, infrastructure and local opportunities for large scale developments and any such development will only destroy greenbelt and national amenity. The only reason to list the area for major development appears to be the financial interests of the owners of Adlington Estate.
