Local plan scoping consultation

I have read the details that CEC are preparing a local plan and I am providing my comments as requested before 1st September 26.
2. I live on South Acre Drive and the land in front of our house off Buxton Old Road and below Blakelow Road is designated as Green Belt. It is often used to graze sheep and provides a green lung down to Macclesfield Canal. The area maybe seen from afar and provides a pleasant outlook from the town.
3. In the plan I would not want to see Green Belt land used for building. The old industrial areas of the borough and the current brownfield sites and greenfield sites are significant. There have been some good examples in the town where brownfield sites have been used such as off Bank Street and Knight Street where there was an industrial site. Similarly the development off Westminster Road. There appears to be a significant number of these brown and greenfield sites in and around the town ripe for housing development.
4. As already indicated the Green Belt below Blakelow Road and similar land provides a green lung that is both appealing and potentially useful to farmers and can be clearly seen from parts of Macclesfield such as from St Michael’s Church.
5. The Green Belt provides a useful buffer between an urban land scape and agricultural or leisure land use.
6.The elevated position of the Green Belt below Blacklow Road is a significant unbuilt area which being typographically elevated would be very disappointing to look at in relation to what is currently offered visually especially if it became just another housing site.
