Dear sir or madam,

I was appalled and angered to hear that 720 acres of historic agricultural land around Ashley on 12 neighbouring sites have been submitted into Cheshire East Council’s Call for Sites. I must object.

This area is totally unsuitable for development. The land is high quality farmland that is important for our national food security.

The current roads and bridges are entirely inadequate for a large development and the amount of infrastructure work required to make them adequate would destroy the beauty and traditional British character of the area.

The area is an important place for recreation and we walk in the lanes and fields there often, are we to be left with nothing but tarmac and concrete?

What about the impact on Tatton Park and the other listed buildings there?
