The Local Plan sets out to allocate sites for future development.
It should do that by keeping to government guidelines and adopted changes to green belt policy.
• Show any proposed development needs
• Illustrate that it has prioritised the use of Brownfield (previously developed ) sites and regeneration of urban areas
• Through the Local Plan process “Green belt boundaries can only be changed where development around railway stations is proposed or where exceptional circumstances exist and development needs cannot be met elsewhere”. If such circumstances are identified priority should be given to previously developed (Brownfield) land

• Climate Change – The plan will also need to reduce transport emissions. Building large developments of houses in rural communities which lack public transport links would require car dependency for hundreds of people every day. This would not be consistent with government and Cheshire East Council climate commitments

• Social Housing – Whilst recognising the need for building houses, I also recognise the severe shortfall in social housing and affordable homes. In our climate and nature crisis this can only be addressed by the right homes in the right place, with infrastructure and facilities in place.
