I would like to make a number of points relating to the impact of the Plan on Macclesfield Common and the historical view of Macclesfield town. The view which is recorded in an etching from the mid 18 th century and which is shown in Stella Davies “ History of Macclesfield” and is little changed having survived the the the ribbon development on BuxtonOldRoad and Blakelow Road in the 1930 and later.
I would specifically like to identify the impact of any development, including infilling any gaps which would block the view, on the following roads and surrounding area which would have an impact on the historical view and in some areas destroy the view totally.
1. West side of Blakelow Road
2. Stoneyfold Lane
3. Longdon Lane
4. Eddisbury Lane
5. Eddisbury Park Field and Wood ( owned by the National Trust)and land adjacent to the wood and field. Note this land was gifted to the National Trust to protect the view and provide an area for the benefit of Macclesfield residents.

Once we loose the views atheycannotbe restored and the historical perspective of Macclesfield will be lost to future generation Let us protect what is left of Macclesfield Common.
