Hello
In response to the scope of the new local plan and in particular the suggestion that the green belt by Blakelow Road could be a suitable site, I would like to raise the following objections and emphasise the need to keep the green belt:
The reasons are as follows -
The local planning authority needs to consider the development of brownfield and greenfield sites before considering the development of Green Belt land.
The removal of the Green Belt will have a significant and negative visual impact on the landscape and the character of the surrounding area of Macclesfield. Many people travel to this part of Macclesfield to walk and enjoy the outstanding natural beauty.
The Green Belt is an important buffer and visual transition between the built environment and the open countryside.
The Green Belt protects the landscape, particularly where Green Belt land is topographically elevated and where built development will be particularly dominant.
