Re: Proposed Housing Allocations and Growth Strategy (fields surrounding Whirley Rd, Chelford Road / Broken Cross)

I am writing to register my strongest possible objection to any further greenfield allocations in the West Macclesfield area, specifically around Whirley Rd, Chelford Road and Broken Cross. Our community is being pushed past its breaking point by relentless development that prioritises developer profits over local welfare.

The open fields around Whirley and Chelford Road are the green lungs of our community and personally for my very family! Replacing them with vast estates of allegedly "affordable" houses -which remain entirely out of financial reach for local young people and families—is a tragedy for our environment and a failure of sustainable planning.

Our community cannot absorb further growth due to three critical failures:

Severe Air Quality Decline: The Broken Cross junction is already an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA). Forcing thousands of additional cars onto Chelford Road daily will permanently poison the air our children breathe.Dangerous

Gridlock: The local road network is at a absolute standstill during peak hours. Delays are severe, and adding more access points will cause total gridlock.

Infrastructure Collapse: Local primary and secondary schools are entirely oversubscribed. Pushing more families into the area without first expanding physical school capacities is deeply irresponsible.

The new Local Plan must prioritise the immediate remediation and use of urban brownfield sites. Do not destroy our precious green spaces, worsen our air quality, and compromise our highway safety for unaffordable housing.

I urge you to consider the welfare of myself, my family and my community.
