Hello,

I have seen the scoping documentation online.

Simply, I have two major concerns firstly for the wildlife in the area. We try to help the hedgehogs, foxes, badgers, field mice, frogs etc in our small garden. How are these creatures meant to survive if we constantly destroy the greenbelt? I know it’s more been renamed as greybelt but let’s face it, everyone knows there’s no such thing as greybelt it’s green. They have limited space for habitation as it is. The current high volume of traffic reduces the numbers already so further increases will just put nature’s future in further danger.

Secondly: Food security. How are we supposed to improve our food security if we keep building on farmland? With climate change this is going to become even more important. We currently have large quantities of rainfall in our area. I know many complain about this but it gives this area an ability to irrigate crops, which even just further south is becoming a problem.

Can we please stop thinking about short-term goals and start planning for the long term? Doing a few road improvements and one train an hour is not sustainable if you want to massively increase traffic.
