Good Morning Cheshire East

You are inviting residents to comment on the new Cheshire East local plan

These are my comments

1. Construction Vehicles

All applications should provide for on site parking of vehicles during the construction stage. Transport should not be parked in adjoining roads causing nuisance and safety hazards.

2. Visitor Parking

To avoid vehicles being left on pavements adequate provision must be made for visitor parking at all sites. This would include schools and care homes. Tandem parking at commercial developments is neither practical nor acceptable.

3. Aesthetics

New construction should be commensurate with neighbouring properities.

Planning commitees should question and seek comments from neighbours on glib planning statements such as saying a new development is

"A welcome contrast to the surrounding brick and tile"

It must be a condition of every new development that developers provide evergreen screening for existing homes.

3. Operating Hours and Maintenance

Should be policed and enforced rigorously . This would include ongoing maintenance work once the development is completed.

4. S.106 Financial Contributions

For example towards schooling, medical services.

Clear audit trail, realistic, tested and actually collected.

5. Shared Ownership / Affordable Domestic Accommodation

At least 50% of all new homes must be shared, affordable and demonstrably set 50% below market value.

To encourage integration and avoid the ghetto look on some recent housing estates, homes must be pepper potted throughout and not clumped 'out of sight.'
