I am writing to express my concern about the potential loss of Green Belt land around Adlington as Cheshire East Council begins preparing a brand new 15-year Local Plan.
I understand that landowners and developers, including Belport, have already put forward large areas of land in and around Adlington for consideration as future housing estates.

While I recognise the need for new homes, I believe development should prioritise brownfield sites wherever possible.
Once productive farmland and Green Belt are built on, they cannot be replaced.

I am also concerned that any significant housing growth should only proceed alongside clear, funded plans for the supporting infrastructure. Roads, public transport, schools, GP surgeries, hospitals, water supply and sewerage all need to be in place to serve existing and future residents.

I hope Cheshire East Council will carefully consider these issues before making any decisions on future land allocations.
