The Coal Authority records indicate that there are recorded coal mining features present at surface and shallow depth including; mine entries, coal workings and reported surface hazards. These features may pose a potential risk to surface stability and public safety.
Based on the past coal mining history of the Cheshire East area we recommend that a policy, or policy criteria, to address risks posed by land instability is also included in the Local Plan.
