Connectivity within CE is less good, and national through routes such as motorways are not so easy to reach due to inadequate A-class roads. Interconnectivity is also a problem, for example there is no sensible public transport from Macclesfield to Manchester Airport.

Infrastructure cannot meet current needs, let along future needs. Roads are congested causing economic loss and environmental pollution (for example Park Lane, Macclesfield, heavily overloaded). Any future growth strategy needs to include remedial action for current issues.

Having a "settlement hierarchy" is pointless unless it guides development towards the needs of the higher levels.

"Cheshire East... will be required to prepare a ‘Spatial Development Strategy’ (SDS) for Cheshire and Warrington."
It is not clear whether the SDS will be prepared by the CWCA (for the whole area), or CE will prepare a segment of the SDS in parallel with the local plan. CE residents, who had no option about becoming part of the CWCA, are naturally concerned that resources will be diverted westwards, as in times past. What checks will be in place to prevent this?
